Digitization of the financial system, digital means of payment and financial inclusion

In recent years, the rise and development of digital technologies is transforming the financial sector to the point of facing a paradigm shift. The emergence of new models of new-generation banking intermediation based on taking advantage of the benefits of emerging technology and with a clear focus on innovation as a differentiating factor, is experiencing strong growth and rapid expansion around the world. On the other hand, technological innovation is leading to the emergence of innovative payment solutions that are popularizing new digital payment methods such as Bizum in Spain or new payment solutions such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay among others.

This symposium aims to explore and discuss the current state of digitization of the financial system and the development of new digital payment methods. It is expected to be a space for reflection on the main challenges and opportunities faced by the financial sector in a context conditioned by digital disruption.
