The economic impact of digitization in the education sector

The implications of COVID-19 have triggered a digitalization process in many economic and productive sectors, which has been particularly accelerated in the case of the education sector. This process has direct consequences on the acquisition of new learning resources, on the adaptation of educational center infrastructures to this new paradigm and on the need for teachers to acquire an optimum level of digital competence, which has repercussions from an economic point of view. The slowdown in economic growth in Europe, which affects both schools and the families of potential students, exacerbates this economic impact. This section of the congress welcomes papers that study the new educational scenarios and analyze their economic consequences on the process of knowledge transmission.
